Paul Brooks

Paul Brooks at Inala Nature on Bruny Island

Paul Brooks has lived in Tasmania all his life and has always been interested in the natural world.  This interest led him to study for a Bachelor of Science at the University of Tasmania, majoring in zoology. It was during this time that his love of birds and birding took off and he has birded extensively across the state for over 15 years, becoming very familiar with the calls, behaviour and habitats of Tasmania’s avifauna.

Since 2012, Paul has organised and led pelagic birding trips from Eaglehawk Neck, on the Tasman Peninsula, and began his guiding for Inala Nature Tours.

(Current available pelagic dates with Inala - Some of which are guided by Paul)

Paul volunteers his time reviewing Tasmanian submissions for eBird Australia and as a moderator for the rare bird reporting website Birdline Tasmania.  He also volunteers for wader counts and BioBlitzes around the state when he can.

p.s - Paul has his best serious pelagic face on for this photo, dont worry he is very friendly.

"Just finished a 3 day birding tour on Bruny with Paul from Inala. If there was a 10 star option we'd give it! Excellent guiding which ticked all our boxes and more. Far better than we had expected. Would recommend them to any birder looking for the Tassie endemics and other Tassie specialities. Two very satisfied birders," ( Annie and Ian Mayo Albany WA - Trip Advisor )

"We spent 3 days in Inala and had a wonderful time. The place is enchanted and the birds are fantastic.
We had a particularly great experience with our guide, Paul Brooks. He is knowledgeable about Tasmanian birds and knows where to find them by excellent listening skills and techniques. Thanks to him we were able to photograph all 12 Tasmanian endemics plus many other lifers. Spending time with him was a pleasure!" (MD Birders - Trip Advisor )
